Former UFC featherweight Rolando Dy made a memorable return to his home country yesterday (Fri., Mar. 15, 2019) at Brave 22 from inside the Mall of Asia in Manila, Philippines, when he decimated opponent Mehmosh Raza via first-round TKO.
This was Brave CF’s first event in Manila and Dy made the most out of his opportunity. The 27-year-old fighter landed a huge left hook-straight right combination with just under one minute left in the first round that knocked Raza’s mouthpiece out and sent the Pakistan fighter to the canvas. Raza was all out of sorts and flopped around for a moment or two before the referee stepped in for the TKO stoppage. Dy held his hands high and proceeded to do the Conor McGregor-Vince McMahon boss walk around the cage.

With this performance, Dy not only proved that he’s still a dangerous fighter on the open MMA circuit after posting a dismal 1-3 record in UFC from 2017-2018, but he ended up on SportsCenter’s Top 10 earlier this morning. Dy came into this main card bout with just two knockout finishes through 17 career fights so combat fans were pleasantly surprised to see his homecoming go the way it did.
