Bellator 218 has a new main event: ‘Sanchez vs Karakhanyan 2’

Bellator 218: “Sanchez vs. Karakhanyan 2” takes place at WinStar World Casino and Resort in Thackerville, Okla., on March 22, 2019, airing live on Paramount Network and DAZN with the main card starting at 9 p.m. ET.

Astute readers may be asking at the moment, “What happened to ‘The White Wolf’ Ashleigh Grimshaw?” That’s because as far back as Dec. 2018, he was slated to face Emmanuel Sanchez in Bellator 218’s main event. Unfortunately, the old injury bug has bit once again and Grimshaw (20-10-1, 3 NC) was forced to withdraw.

The good news is that Bellator MMA worked quickly to find a replacement with the show only a couple of weeks away, and as a result, Sanchez (17-4) will now fight Georgi Karakhanyan (28-8-1, 1 NC) in a rematch of their Bellator 170 bout where Sanchez prevailed by a slim majority decision.
