Current UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway and lightweight contender Dustin Poirier came together earlier tonight (Fri., Mar. 1, 2019) for UFC 236’s pre-fight press conference (replay here) from Las Vegas, Nevada, in advance to their interim lightweight title fight. Their match up was announced last month following the suspension of current UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.
After answering a plethora of questions from various media members, Holloway and Poirier squared off on stage for their first official UFC 236 staredown. Check it out above courtesy of UFC.
Also scheduled to take place at UFC 236 is an interim middleweight title fight between No. 1 contender Kelvin Gastelum and rising superstar Israel Adesanya. Their interim title matchup came together after current middleweight champion Robert Whittaker was forced out of his UFC 234 bout with Gastelum due to injury.
