Conor McGregor ‘really excited’ for tonight’s UFC 234 card - ‘The Spider is always money’

Conor McGregor is excited for UFC 234 and you should be, too.

UFC 234 is scheduled to go down later this evening (Sat., Feb. 9, 2019) live on pay-per-view (PPV) from inside Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, Australia, and will feature a main event middleweight title fight between current champion Robert Whittaker and surging contender Kelvin Gastelum.

While the main event should be enough to spark your interest, the co-main event between former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva and rising sensation Israel Adesanya is arguably a more attractive fight. After all, it could mark a true passing of the torch at 185 pounds.

McGregor, along with fight fans around the world, is taking notice of tonight’s middleweight bouts. The UFC superstar broke down the action and paid respect to tonight’s top draws with the following Twitter post:

“I am really excited for tonight’s @UFC card!” wrote McGregor. “The Spider is always money, facing off against an exciting up an comer, and also the current 185lb champion fighting in his home country of Australia! Exciting fights ahead @UFC 234! #LetsGo #ProperKnocks

Even though McGregor may have a pony in tonight’s co-main event —given his recent connection to a potential Anderson Silva superfight — “Notorious” seems keen on Adesanya as well. Can you blame him? “Last Stylebender” is already one of the best strikers in the UFC’s middleweight division and could lock down a title shot with a win over “Spider” later tonight.

While UFC 234 doesn’t have much going on outside of the top-heavy PPV card, maybe McGregor’s praise can inject even more anticipation into UFC’s return to Australia.

MMAmania.com will deliver LIVE round-by-round, blow-by-blow coverage of the entire UFC 234 fight card, starting with the Fight Pass “Prelims” matches online, which are scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. ET, then the remaining undercard balance on ESPN at 8 p.m. ET, before the PPV main card start time at 10 p.m. ET.
