We haven’t even gotten to the official weigh ins and we’re already down by one fight.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) bantamweight, Marlon Vera, has been pulled from his Frankie Saenz showdown at 135 pounds after falling ill, according to a brief statement on the promotion's official website.
Since “illness” is a catch-all for late withdrawals, we’ll have to wait for a reaction from the “Chito” camp to figure out what’s going on. The UFC 235 fight card, which goes down this Sat. night (March 2, 2019) inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, will proceed with 12 bouts.
Nothing yet from Saenz on social media, so either he doesn’t know the fight has been scrapped, or he’s out back punching a hole through the hotel wall in frustration. Regrettably, it’s too close to fight night to find a suitable replacement who can not only get on weight, but pass medicals, etc.
