Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is back in “Sin City” this week for the upcoming UFC 235: “Jones vs. Smith” pay-per-view (PPV) event, which is set to go down TONIGHT (Sat., March 2, 2019) inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, featuring a light heavyweight title fight main event between division kingpin Jon Jones and top contender Anthony Smith. In UFC 235’s championship co-headliner, welterweight deity, Tyron Woodley, makes his first title defense of 2019 against top contender, Kamaru Usman, who is undefeated inside the Octagon. The outcome of that bout could have an impact on the winner of Ben Askren vs. Robbie Lawler, a welterweight main card showdown that has serious title implications in the 170-pound division. And let’s not forget the return of former bantamweight champion, Cody Garbrandt, who looks to get back to his winning ways against the rough-and-tumble Pedro Munhoz. All that and so much more!

Round 1: Woodley throws an early overhand as Usman presses forward. Usman looks for a single-leg and Woodly clamps onto a guillotine. Nothing there and Usman lands short punches and elbows. One minute in. Woodley complains of Usman holding his glove. Working to stand on the fence. Usman with a knee to the body. Two minutes in. Woodley makes it to his feet, takes knees downstairs. They separate. Usman continues to advance. Front kick attempt. He jabs and shoots with two minutes to go.

Round 1: Askren shoots in seconds and gets slammed to the mat. Lawler unloads with massive shots. He somehow survives, absorbs a knee to the body and they separate. Uppercut from Lawler. Askren ties up on the fence. Knees from Lawler. Two minutes in. Another heavy knee from an awkward angle. Askren looking for a single, transitions to a double. Lawler with a heavy sprawl. Askren gets him to his rear and looks for the back. Lawler tries to turn out of it and gets caught in a bulldog choke. Askren puts in the squeeze and Lawler appears to go out. The ref calls it, but Lawler is still conscious. Oh dear.

115 lbs.: Tecia Torres vs. Weili Zhang
Round 1: Both women highly mobile early. Zhang tries a spinning back kick. Both fall short with punches. More kicks from Zhang. Spinning kick attempt. One minute in. Hard 3-2 by Zhang inside, right hand from Torres in return. Right hand exchange. Spinning back kick and left hook by Zhang. She does a head-and-arm throw, Torres rolls through and lands a right as they separate two minutes in. Zhang whiffs on a spinning back fist. Two minutes to go.
Zhang tries another spinning kick and turns it into a takedown attempt. She transitions directly to the back and looks for the RNC. One minute to go. Zhang loses the hooks, eats a right on the break. Round 2: Low kick from Zhang, who lands a spinning back fist to counter one from Torres. One minute in. Zhang committing to the inside low kick. Switch kick to the body. Torres lands a body kick as Zhang opens up. Big left hook by Zhang. Two minutes in. Another check hook by Zhang. Inside leg kick. Another check hook met by a Torres right hand. Torres leg kicks. Round 3: Teep from Torres knocks Zhang off-balance. Side kick does the same thing. Leg kick lands. Left hook from Zhang, Torres comes back with a body kick and hard right hand. Zhang finds the mark in return with a check hook and ties up. Elbow from Zhang on the break a minute in. Torres catches the next spinning back kick, eats shots inside. Knee to the body by Zhang. Round 1: Munhoz catches a kick and jumps on a leglock, but can’t keep his grip. One minute in. Low kick from Munhoz. Front kick and head kick attempt. Calf kick connects. Garbrandt has yet to commit to a punch. Two minutes in. Right hook by Garbrandt. Munhoz calf kick. Garbrandt tries a combo. Munhoz with a lead right. Two minutes to go.
Munhoz leg kick off a blocked flurry. Spinning back kick and he flurries on the cage. Another calf kick and Garbrandt’s feeling it. Munhoz tries a head kick, then drops Garbrandt with either a left hook or headbutt. He takes half guard with a minute to go. Garbrandt uncorks a flying knee on the way up and they start slugging. They’re throwing ridiculous shots. Overhand rights hurt Garbrandt but he’s throwing back. Another overhand and Garbrandt collapses, succumbing to ground-and-pound.

Round 1: Stamann whiffs on some big shots near the fence. Head kick misses. Perez switching stance. Hard 3-2 connects for Stamann. One minute in. Perez nearly catches him ducking with a knee. Leg kick lands for Perez. Two minutes in. Stamann catches a kick, can’t get the takedown or the guillotine. He catches another, lands a heavy hook on the fence. Two minutes to go.

Gall gets back up and tries a granby roll. Sanchez takes him down once again into guard. Elbows to the body from Sanchez. Good one upstairs with a minute to go. Gall looking to grab a leg, Sanchez hammerfisting and gets back to side control. Gall with elbows off his back. 10-9 Sanchez.
Round 2: Sanchez lands a right hook, marches back into the clinch with underhooks. Body kick when they separate. Gall tries to pursue with punches, clips Sanchez with a left hook a minute in. Gall takes him to the fence, eats a knee and goes down. Sanchez tries to jump on his back, falls, takes it again. Gall is completely spent. Sanchez landing elbows while sprawling. Rear waist lock to takedown. Two minutes in. Sanchez takes mount, Gall uses the cage to escape. Sanchez in side control as Gall tries an inverted triangle. Two minutes to go.
Heavy elbows by Sanchez. More blows piling up. Sanchez regains mount and continues the punishment. He simply keeps hitting until the ref steps in.

Round 1: Chiasson aggressive early. Mazany with low kicks and lefts downstairs. Chiasson lands a body kick in return. Check hook connects, then a pair of body kicks. Two more. One minute in. Mazany still targeting the left to the body. One lands upstairs. Chiasson marches after her and puts her on the fence. They separate, but Chiasson immediately comes back with brutal punches that put Mazany spark out.

115 lbs.: Hannah Cifers vs. Polynna Viana
Round 1: Low kick from Viana. Cifers on the front foot so far. Body shot connects. She looks for another combination. One minute in. Overhand right lands clean. Viana connects with a body kick. Lots of time between these engagements. They trade near the fence. Two minutes in. Inside low kick by Viana. Counter right met by a Cifers body kick. Cifers eats a body kick, lands a left hand, and Viana jumps guard, looking for a leg. She loses her grip on the toe hold and Cifers stands. Two minutes to go.

Via lands a knee to the body and another front kick. Back to trading in the center. Both land body kicks. Punch exchange. Two minutes in. Cifers goes downstairs with punches. Counter right by Viana, who walks into an overhand right but continues to advance. Two minutes to go.
