The upcoming UFC on ESPN 3 card will now take place on April 27 from inside BB&T Center in Sunrise, Florida, per a recent announcement by UFC officials.
UFC on ESPN 3, which currently has no main event in place, was originally expected to take place inside American Airlines Arena in Miami.
While the card is still a work in progress, the following bouts have already been confirmed for the April event:
Light Heavyweight: Glover Teixeira vs. Ion Cutelaba
Women’s Strawweight: Carla Esparza vs. Livinha Souza
Hevayweight: Andrei Arlovski vs. Augusto Sakai
Bantamweight: John Lineker vs. Cory Sandhagen
Lightweight: Jim Miller vs. Jason Gonzalez
Welterweight: Court McGee vs. Dhiego Lima
Women’s Strawweight: Jessica Penne vs. Jodie Esquibel
Considering the card is scheduled to take place on the big ESPN network, UFC officials will likely add even more fire power to help boost ratings. After all, UFC’s debut on ESPN returned the highest overnight ratings for a “Fight Night” event in three years.
It seems like these UFC on ESPN cards are going to deliver moving forward and this planned stopover in Sunrise will be no different, especially if a main event between middleweight contenders Yoel Romero and Paulo Costa comes to fruition.
