Undefeated middleweight title contender, Israel Adesanya, will battle fellow 185-pound standout, Kelvin Gastelum, for the promotion’s substitute strap at the upcoming UFC 236 pay-per-view (PPV) event on Sat., April 13, 2019 inside a venue to be named.
And he’ll do it as the -240 favorite.
That’s according to our fiscal friends over at Best Fight Odds, who bring the rapidly-changing line straight from BetOnline. The Adesanya vs. Gastelum bout was cobbled together when reigning middleweight champion, Robert Whittaker, was felled by an uncooperative bowel.
Among other things.
That left Gastelum without an opponent for UFC 234 earlier this month in Melbourne, the same fight card that had Adesanya knocking around former champion, Anderson Silva. Expect the winner to challenge “The Reaper” at some point later this year.
In the meantime, any fight fans out there ready to lay some timber on Gastelum’s +205 line? Or will you take a “wait and see” approach?
