UFC Fight Night 145 results: Live streaming play-by-play updates for ‘Blachowicz vs Santos’ on ESPN+ in Prague

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will make its long-awaited debut inside O2 Arena in Prague, Czech Republic, by way of the UFC Fight Night 145 mixed martial arts (MMA) event on ESPN+ this Sat. night (Feb. 23, 2019), featuring a 13-bout fight card headlined by the light heavyweight slugfest pitting Jan Blachowicz against Thiago Santos. Joining the 205-pound sluggers will be the heavyweight battle between Marcos Rogerio de Lima and Stefan Struve, while Liz Carmouche tries to cement her place as the next 125-pound title contender by turning away Lucie Pudilova. Longtime veterans John Dodson, Sam Alvey, and Gian Villante will also see action.

205 lbs.: Jan Blachowicz vs. Thiago Santos

Round 1: Both try body kicks to start. Jab from Blachowicz. Both men respectful of each other’s power early. One minute in. Santos low kicks. Both launching kicks, neither landing clean. Two minutes in. Santos whiffs on an elbow, lands a leg kick. Low kick by Blachowicz. Oblique and front kick from Santos. Clean 1-2. Two minutes to go.

Snapping hook lands for Santos, then a right to the body. Blachowiczcatches a body kick and looks for a takedown. He can’t complete it and nearly eats a right hand on the exit with a minute to go. Leg kick connects for Santos. Oblique kicks. 10-9 Santos.

Round 2: Santos continuing to attack the lead leg. One minute in. Body kick from Blachowicz, low kick from Santos. Santos threatens to spin. Blachowicz low kick. Head kick attempt. Leg kick lands. Two minutes in. Blachowiczlands a lead right and body kick behind it. Santos looks for a leg kick. Another. Blachowicz lands one. Santos tries a wheel kick with two minutes to go.

Santos looks for check hooks as Blachowicz steps in. Santos hurls a massive hook that falls short, then another. One minute to go. Good trade in te center, capped off by a Blachowicz body kick. Blachowicz tries a head kick. Santos goes for a cartwheel kick at the bell. 10-9 Blachowicz.

Round 3: Blachowicz charges in and gets laid out by a 3-2. Santos slams him with a few dozen hammerfists and in comes the ref.

265 lbs.: Marcos Rogerio de Lima vs. Stefan Struve

Round 1: de Lima drops Struve with an overhand right in about three seconds and follows him down into guard. Left hands from de Lima. One minute in. More ground-and-pound. Struve looking for a kimura, de Lima responds by moving to half guard two minutes in. Back to guard, posturing up for bigger punches. Two minutes to go.

Things slowing down. One minute to go. Half guard, now mount for de Lima. Struve just holding on to him. 10-8 de Lima.

Round 2: de Lima marches forward and ties up on the fence. Fighting for underhooks. Struve lands a trip and takes half guard. Looking for full mount. de Lima denies it. Two minutes in. Suddenly de Lima just gives Struve an arm triangle and taps when the big man goes to mount.

Final result: Struve def. de Lima by submission (arm triangle choke)


205 lbs.: Gian Villante vs. Michal Oleksiejczuk

Round 1: Oleksiejczuk advancing, tossing out left hands. Low kick from Villante. Overhand right dings Oleksiejczuk. Straight left answers it. Then the ESPN+ stream dies for a little bit. Oleksiejczuk continuing to just march forward with 1-2s and he drills Villante with a left to the midsection that sends him to his knees for the finish.

Final result: Oleksiejczuk def. Villante by TKO (punches)


125 lbs.: Liz Carmouche vs. Lucie Pudilova

Round 1: They trade low kicks to start. Carmouche muscles her way into the clinch, gets double underhooks and puts her on the fence. One minute in. Pudilov with a short left, gets foot stomped two minutes in. Still driving. Two minutes to go.

They really should have broken them up by now, methinks. She finally gets Pudilova to her rear 30 seconds later. Short punches to the body from Carmouche. One minute to go. Pudilova looks for...some kind of front choke. Ezekiel, maybe. Carmouche is bleeding a remarkable amount. Pudilov fights for a guillotine at the bell. 10-9 Carmouche?

Round 2: Nothing in the first minute. Feints from both women, nobody throwing legitimate strikes. Two minutes in. Still naught. They try kicks. Now Pudilova looks a bit more aggressive. Two minutes to go.

Pudilova tries to jump in for a knee and gets slammed to the mat. Pudilova holding onto a front headlock against the fence. Carmouche peels her off the fence and takes mount. One minute to go. Pudilova uses the fence to bridge and turn into guard. Short elbows . More good shots before the bell. 10-9 Pudilova.

Round 3: Pudilova sends out kicks. Axe kick attempt. Carmouche tries to blitz, lands a right hand. Two minutes in. Pudilova tries a front kick and gets taken down for it into side control. Two minutes to go.

Pudilova regains half guard and Carmouche falls back for a heel hook. Pudilova lands an illegal heel kick to the head, then elbows Carmouche in the butt a lot. She winds up on top in guard, where Carmouche looks for an armbar but gives up half guard. Pudilova ends the fight dropping good punches. 10-9 Carmouche.

Final result: Carmouche def. Pudilova by unanimous decision


135 lbs.: John Dodson vs. Petr Yan

Round 1: Dodson rushes in early, knocking Yan off-balance. Left hand to the body. One minute in. Dodson continues to bang the body inside. 1-2 from Yan. Low kick. Dodson catches a body kick, complains to the ref of a low blow and lets Yan up while doing so. Yan suddenly opens up with brutal combinations on the fence. Two minutes in. Dodson catches another kick, can’t bring him down and nearly gets tripped. 1-2 from Dodson to counter an overhand. Two minutes to go.

Dodson grabs a body lock off a Yan flying knee. They separate and Yan pursues with shots. Body kick from Dodson, left hands from Yan. Yan tries a 1-2-3 and pivots away from the clinch. One minute to go. Yan throws, lands a knee inside before they separate. Clean right cross by Yan. Dodson with a nice 1-2 before the bell. 10-9 Yan.

Round 2: Dodson tries to flurry off the fence. Body shots in the clinch. They trade on the fence, uppercut from Dodson. Superman punch from Dodson, who looks for a single-leg. Yan separates a minute in. Dodson to the body once again. Yan with a heavy right hand. Another 1-2, then a right on the lead. Two minutes in. Low kick from Dodson. Yan lands a right hand, but gets dropped hard by a clean left hand. Yan uses butterfly guard to stand and goes back on the pursuit. Left hook from Yan. Yan looking to open up on the fence. Two minutes to go.

Dodson to the body, avoids a knee on the break. Yan lands a body kick and left hand. 1-2-1 from Yan. One minute to go. Dodson throwing with his back against the fence. Yan digs a right downstairs. Nasty right cross and 1-2. Kne, elbows, right hand on teh break. Dodson knocks off his rhythm with a left hand. Another right from Yan. Big 1-2 stings Dodson, who looks to tie up. Elbow, left, uppercut, knee from Yan. 10-9 Yan despite the knockdown.

Round 3: Yan continues to back Dodson against the fence and open up with his hands. Low kick from Dodson. Yan doubles up his right hand a minute in. Low kick from Dodson. He looks for a takedown, denied. More quality shots from Yan as he keeps Dodson pressed against the cage with his cage cutting. Two minutes in. Yan just misses with a head kick as Dodson shoots, gets taken down, pops right back up and grabs the waist lock. Warned for a shot to the back of the head. Good knee, spinning shot misses. Yan marching on, landing a heavy right hand. Two minutes to go.

Uppercut, more combinations. Dodson takes him down, Yan gets out and looks for his own back take. Dodson grabs the fence to deny a takedown, so Yan blasts him with a left on the break. Yan continuing to march after him and connect. Another 1-2. Dodson ducks for a single-leg, denied. Dodson turns to complain to the ref about Yan grabbing his hair and gets taken down. Yan pounds away on a turtling Dodson until the bell. 10-9 Yan.

Final result: Yan def. Dodson by unanimous decision


205 lbs.: Magomed Ankalaev vs. Klidson Farias de Abreu

Round 1: Abreu advancing slowly. Counter right hook. He tries to take Ankalaev to the fence, gets reversed. Elbow on the break from Ankalaev, but Abreu blasts him with a right hook that has him retreating. They trade in the center two minutes in. Abreu shoots and gets dropped by a right uppercut, He manages to scramble free and separate, his nose looking Rich Franklin-ish. Abreu shoots, pulls half guard. Two minutes to go.

Ankalaev staying patient. One minute to go. Good elbows from Ankalaev in the waning seconds. 10-9 Ankalaev.

Round 2: Abreu lands a head kick 20 seconds in. Two more uppercuts from Ankalaev. One minute in. Abreu lands a combination. They trade knees. Two minutes in. Low kick from Abreu. Jab and counter uppercut from Ankalaev in return. Abreu with a nice level change and puts him on the fence. Two minutes to go.

Ankalaev counters a trip to land on top, taking half guard. One minute to go. Full guard. 10-9 Ankalaev.

Round 3: Ankalaev looking to counter. He denies a takedown and opens up on the fence. One minute in. Abreu tries a wheel kick. Counter left lands for Ankalaev. Abreu to t he body. He checks a leg kick. Two minutes to go.

Ankalaev lands an uppercut as Abreu ties up, puts the Brazilian on the fence. Knee from Ankalaev. Abreu looks for one of his own. Good elbow by Ankalaev. Knees to the thigh with a minute to go. Ref separates them. Both fire 1-2s. Body shots. Ankalaev looks for a takedown at the end. 10-9 Ankalaev.

170 lbs.: Dwight Grant vs. Carlo Pedersoli Jr.

Round 1: Grant looking more aggressive. He stuffs a takedown and swings. Pedersoli tries a head kick, appears to ding him with an overhand left. Grant to the body. One minute in. Pedesoli shoots again, can’t get it. Hard leg kick by Grant. Good punches from Pedersoli, who looks for knees on the fence. Two minutes in. He whiffs on an overhand. Body kick. Again. Two minutes to go.

Grant ducks a head kick, falls short with hooks. Body kick by Pedersoli, then a harder one. He shoots, sprawled on, rolls through and looks for the back. Grant tries to throw on the break. One minute to go. Overhand left lands for Pedersoli. He shoots, sprawled on, fires knees. Left hook from Grant. Pedersoli throws a head kick in the waning seconds and Grant knocks his mouthpiece into the eighth row with an overhand right. He keeps pounding and in comes the ref with a split second to go in the round.

Final result: Grant def. Pedersoli by TKO (punches)


145 lbs.: Chris Fishgold vs. Daniel Teymur

Round 1: Fishgold looks for an immediate takedown and Teymur blatantly grabs the fence to defend, resulting in a point deduction. Fishgold continues driving, slams him down as Teymur swats him with hammerfists. Teymur makes it to his feet and takes top position when fishgold misses a guillotine. Teymur eats an upkick, falls back for a leg, and returns to his feet. Lead uppercut and another right by Fishgold. Teymur with a pair of heavy punches as he stops a takedown. Fishgold takes him down from a standing arm triangle and scrambles to his back. Teymur scrambles into guard and drops hard punches. Side control for Teymur. Two minutes to go.

Fishgold makes space and gets back to his feet. He puts Teymur on the fence. Teymur reverses and lands a right. They slug and now it’s Fishgold blasting him with a combination. He pursues Teymur, both men unloading. Fishgold ducks a spinning elbow for a takedown. He moves to the back with a minute to go, then takes mount. Teumur uses the fence to roll, but Fishgold snatches the arm as he does and cranks on the armbar. Teymur escapes, only for Fishgold to retake his back. What a round. 10-8 Fishgold with the deduction.

Round 2: Fishgold catches a low kick for another takedown. Looking for mount, takes the back. There’s the RNC and he finishes it palm-to-palm.

Final result: Fishgold def. Teymur by submission (rear naked choke)


125 lbs.: Veronica Macedo vs. Gillian Robertson

Round 1: Macedo firing straight lefts as she circles. Robertson shoots from far out and puts her on the fence. She gets underhooks, gets reversed, but powers through to land in half guard. One minute in. Full mount already. Macedo uses the fence to spin into guard and drop punches. Robertson turns, grabs a leg, and scores another takedown on the fence. She transitions to the back. Macedo avoids an arm triangle and turns into guard. Two minutes to go.

Macedo stands and separates. Head kick attempt. Body kick lands. Macedo tries a Silva elbow. Straight left lands and Robertson takes her down into side control. Macedo regains guard. 10-9 Robertson.

Round 2: Macedo opens with strikes and counters a takedown into guard. She lands strikes as Robretson stands. Robertson catches a body kick for a takedown and moves to half guard as Macedo holds onto a guillotine on the wrong side. Short body blow. Arm triangle setup, but Macedo sweeps into guard. Two minutes in. Robertson turns for an armbar. She uses it to sweep and take mount once again. Two minutes to go.

Macedo gives up her back in transition as Robertson locks up the RNC, drawing the tap.

Final result: Robertson def. Macedo by submission (rear naked choke)



155 lbs.: Damir Hadzovic vs. Marco Polo Reyes

Round 1: Low kick from Hadzovic. Lead right. Reyes low kick. Hadzovic answers, avoids a combo. Reyes to the body a minute in. Still pretty slow, honestly. Left hook by Hadzovic a minute in. Reyes to the body. Left hook and leg kick. Two minutes to go.

Reyes to the body again. Hadzovic opens up, eats a left hook and body blows. Reyes increasing his output. Hard left hook by Hadzovic on the break. 3-2 inside. He shoots, completes it into half guard. Reyes gets to his feet. Hadzovic still attached, takes him down into half guard again. 10-9 Hadzovic.

Round 2: Hadzovic body kicks as Reyes presses forward. Right hand lands. He shoots, completes it into mount. He postures up and starts dropping shots. Full back control now. More punches piling up. Reyes covers up and there’s the ref.

Final result: Hadzovic def. Reyes by TKO (punches)


170 lbs.: Michel Prazeres vs. Ismail Naurdiev

Round 1: Naurdiev fires a body kick and Prazeres catches it, hauling hiim to the fence. Naurdiev defends the first attempt with a whizzer and shows excellent balance to continue to stay up. Prazeres with some hard punches when they return to standing. One minute in. Prazeres shoots and Naurdiev looks for a ninja choke without success. Knee from Naurdiev and they separate. Two minutes in. Nauriev clips him with a flying switch kick and two punches that force a shot. Prazeres completes it into half guard, avoiding a guillotine. Naurdiev immediately sweeps into top position. Two minutes to go.

Elbows form Naurdiev, who moves to mount and takes the back. Looking for a neck crank, can’t get it and Prazeres rolls to his knees. Elbows from Naurdiev. One minute to go. Prazeres keeping him on his rear against the cage. Naurdiev scrambles into his own shot attempt and Prazeres looks for the switch, firing elbows. 10-9 Naurdiev.

Round 2: Prazeres catches a body kick, can’t get the takedown but lands a left hook. One minute in. Prazeres whiffs on a left hook and can’t tie up. Body kicks from Naurdiev. Trading low kicks. Naurdiev continues throwing kicks. Flying knee attempt, but Prazeres grabs double underhooks and puts him on the fence. Two minutes in. Naurdiev counters the takedown, but Prazeres keeps driving and makes it to half guard. When he tries to pass to side control, Naurdiev sweeps into guard. Two minutes to go.

Ref stands them up. Prazeres is slow to rise. Naurdiev fires a body kick, tries a knee, and Prazeres ties up. One minute to go. Ref breaks them up for lack of action. Both look exhausted, but Naurdiev blasts him with a right cross. More kicks and he stuffs a takedown. 10-9 Naurdiev.

Round 3: Quick hug to start the round. Naurdiev stuffs a takedown and tries a counter knee. Uppercut and left hook. Prazeres catches a knee, can’t take him down and eats body kicks. Prazeres puts him on the fence. One minute in. Ref separates them. Prazeres looks for a single-leg, can’t complete it initially but ultimately makes it to half guard. Looking to pass to mount, but again Naurdiev uses the opportunity to sweep. He cracks Prazeres with a knee on the way up and follows up with punches, then stuffs the next takedown. Two minutes to go.

Naurdiev doign damage, takes side control. Punches piling up. Prazeres rolls to his knees and covers up, then surrenders half guard. One minute to go. 10-9 Naurdiev.

Final result: Naurdiev def. Prazeres by unanimous decision


155 lbs.: Diego Ferreira vs. Rustam Khabilov

Round 1: Low kick from Khabilov as Ferreira looks to walk him down. Low kick from the Brazilian. 1-2 by Ferreira and they trade in the center. One minute in. Anotehr trade in the center. Khabilov lands a counter 3-2. Ferreira lands a combo on the fence. 1-2, then again and a knee. Khabilov shoots, slams him down after the Brazilian scrambles up. Ferreira stands again and they slug at close range. Ferreira walks him to the fence with combos. Two minutes to go.

Low kick and body shot by Ferreira, 1-2. Khabilov changes levels, but Ferreira makes a gorgeous transition to the rear crucifix. Ferreira locks up the Kadowaki Special RNC and gets it under the chin, but runs out of time. 10-9 Ferreira.

Round 2: Ferreira continues to pressure. Right cross lands for him as they exchange. 3-2 by Ferreira. Lead hook lands clean. One minute in. Khabilov looks for a body shot among his counters. Jab upstairs. They trade counter rights. Two minutes in. Khabilov to the body. He’s doing better this round. Khabilov grabs a body lock for a takedown, Ferreira pops back up. Two minutes to go.

Check hook by Khabilov. Leg kick by Ferreira. They trade at close range. One minute to go. 1-1-2 from the Brazilian and a low kick soon after. Body shot. Khabilov gets in on a single-leg, but Ferraira back shim off with a guillotine attempt. Khabilov takes him down again and fires a right on the way up. Long right hand by Ferreira. 10-9 Ferreira.

Round 3: Ferreira marches on, firing combinations. Good exchange in the center. Khabilov catches a leg kick and fires a combination. One minute in. Jabs and rights from the Brazilian. Now Khabilov lands a good right on the counter. Ferreira opens up, lands a left downstairs. Two minutes in. 1-1-2. Ferreira’s pressure and volume are too much. Two minutes to go.

Khabilov changes levels, eats some shots. He can’t run the pipe. One minute to go. He shoots again, stuffed. Khabilov tries an up-elbow. He shoots again, denied. One more, completes it, can’t keep Ferreira down. Ferreira backs him up and they slug it out ont eh fence. 10-9 Ferreira.

Final result: Ferreira def. Khabilov by unanimous decision


155 lbs.: Damir Ismagulov vs. Joel Alvarez

Round 1: Ismagulov opens with a body jab. Alvarez counters a low kick with a straight right. Ismagulov low kick and body jab. Alvarez steps in and nearly eats an overhand. The next overhand lands clean. One minute in. Ismagulov continues to plug the body, then cracks him with another overhand. Alvarez lands a low kick. Two minutes in. Alvarez follows a knee attempt with a right hand. Overhand right and left hook land for Ismagulov. Two minutes to go.

Big left uppercut from the Kazakh. Hard body kick behind it. Left hook and kick to the midsection. Alvarez connects with a good leg kick. Ismagulov lead right. Left hook after an uppercut downstairs. Counter two-piece with 50 seconds to go. Ismagulov whiffs on a 2-3. 10-9 Ismagulov.

Round 2: Ismagulov staying busy. Spinning back kick attempt. One minute in. Alvarez tries a knee, eats a jab. Ismagulov with a right downstairs and leg kick. Wild spinning back fist attempt. BIG overhand right jacks Alvarez’s jaw, but he absorbs it without issue. Two minutes in. Right hand to the body. Jabs downstairs. Two minutes to go.

Jab exchange. Alvarez really offering nothing but the occasional jab this round. Ismagulov fires a body kick, goes low-high with a 1-2. Alvarez with a front kick downstairs. Ismagulov overhand. They trade in the center. 10-9 Ismagulov.

Round 3: Slow start to the round, plenty of feints. Left uppercut from Ismagulov. One minute in. He tries a body kick. Counter right falls just short. Alvarez body kick and right hand connect. Double right hand and a left behind it for Ismagulov. Two minutes in. Lead hook upstairs. Alvarez lands a front kick to the body and a leg kick. Ismagulov with his own body kick. Two minutes to go.

Alvarez falls well short with a wheel kick, goes wide with a knee. They trade off a caught Ismagulov kick. Ismagulov catches a low kick with a minute to go. Low-high 1-2 from Ismagulov. Front kick from Alvarez connects. Ismagulov comes back with an overhand right. 10-9 Ismagulov.

Final result: Ismagulov def. Alvarez by unanimous decision
