UFC on ESPN 1 results: Kron Gracie clinically throttles Caceres in one

Kron Gracie, of those Gracies, made his UFC debut against action journeyman Alex Caceres tonight (Sunday, Feb. 17, 2019) from Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix, Arizona, live and free on ESPN.

Caceres came out feinting and looking for jabs and kicks. Gracie countered him with a strong right hand. Caceres tried a heel kick. Kron ducked under a jab and wrapped Caceres up, driving him to the fence with a bodylock. He dragged Caceres down with an awkward jumping back take and instantly started working for a rear-naked choke, which he clinically locked up, forcing Caceres to tap. Incredible debut from Kron Gracie! That was quick work from the grappling master.

“Whoop there it is” said Kron on the mic afterward. “I think this is just what I do every day. Pretty basic for me.” He thanked his team, including Nate Diaz, then told “everyone else, better watch your f***ing back!”, which ESPN most definitely did not bleep.

Official result: Kron Gracie def. Alex Caceres via submission (rear-naked choke) at 2:06 of round one
