Kron Gracie may have had to eat a punch or two to get in close to Alex Caceres earlier tonight (Sun., Feb. 17, 2019) at UFC on ESPN 1 from inside Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix, Arizona, but the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu prodigy eventually wrapped “Bruce Leeroy” up and secured a rear-naked choke submission finish early into the first round.
Gracie did his bidding along the cage by hooking Caceres with his leg and dragging him to the canvas. From there, the BJJ wizard quickly locked up a body triangle and then the submission finish, which didn’t take long once the arm went under Caceres’ neck.

With this performance, Kron enters the Octagon in fashion and adds to the everlasting legacy of the Gracie family. The 30-year-old featherweight looked as good as advertised tonight and should get plenty of opportunities to shine moving forward.
The young Gracie even gave a shout out to teammate Nate Diaz in his post-fight interview.
“I’d like to come back as soon as possible,” said Gracie when asked about his future. “I’d like to thank my team, Nate Diaz, everybody who’s in my corner. Thank you all. Thanks to all my fans.”
Diaz, who hasn’t been near the Octagon since his loss to Conor McGregor back in 2016, was having a good time after Gracie’s memorable debut (shown below courtesy of MMA Fighting’s Shaheen Al-Shatti):
