Vicente Luque and Bryan Barberena put forth one of the best fights in recent memory earlier tonight (Sun., Feb. 17, 2019) at UFC on ESPN 1 from inside Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix, Arizona, as the two welterweights combined for nearly 300 significant strikes (292 to be exact) in a three-round war.

When the dust settled late into the third round, Luque had struck the final blows. A huge right hand followed by two knees and ground-and-pound finally put a stop to “Bam Bam.” The finish capped off one of the best three-round fights the UFC welterweight division has ever seen.

With this performance, Luque extends his current UFC win streak four (all finishes). The rising welterweight contender continues to look more and more dangerous every time he steps inside of the cage, even though it took everything in the tank to get past a ridiculously tough Barberena tonight on ESPN.
Luque certainly deserves a top 10 opponent his next time out, as well as $50,000 for this Fight of the Year candidate.
