It could be an all-Diaz affair at UFC 237 if a couple of proposed matchups see the light of day. After former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Middleweight champion Anderson Silva called for a rematch against Nick Diaz for the May 11 pay-per-view (PPV) event in Curitiba, Brazil, Conor McGregor took notice.
Indeed, “Notorious” — who also threw his name in the hat to face “The Spider” — declared that if the promotion does indeed book the Silva vs Diaz rematch, he will gladly face Nate Diaz in a trilogy fight on the same card.
Seriously:
Book it. I’ll fight Nate on it. https://t.co/ewh4aQ4E7A

Insert shocked face here.
Of course, Nate and Conor have a well-documented beef, as the Stockton slugger handed Conor his first loss inside the Octagon at UFC 196 back in 2016. Five months later. “Notorious” got some revenge by defeating Nate via unanimous decision at UFC 202. A trilogy fight never came to be, but now it seems the mouthy Irishman is ready to settle the score.
As far as Silva vs Nick is concerned, their fight at UFC 183 ended in a “No Contest” after “The Spider’s” win was overturned after he failed a post-fight drug test. Diaz hasn’t competed since, and getting him to take a fight these says is a tall order.
Still, if UFC can pull off the unthinkable and book both of these matchups, they cold have one of the biggest PPV events ever on its hands. And I’m sure Rose Namajunas and Jessica Andrade — who are currently scheduled to headline the event in a women’s Strawweight title fight — won’t mind the company.
