Knockout! Watch Aspen Ladd finish Yana Kunitskaya late at UFC on ESPN 7

Aspen Ladd rebounded in a big way last night (Sat., Dec. 7, 2019) at UFC on ESPN 7 live on ESPN from inside Capital One Arena in Washington D.C., when she finished women’s bantamweight contender Yana Kunitskaya via third-round TKO (punches).

The first two rounds produced moments for each fighter. Kunitskaya would move in to pin Ladd against the cage and rough her up with dirty boxing, but Ladd would eventually turned the tides, separate off the fence, and score takedowns to land her own offense. Ladd got it to the ground again in the third after knocking Kunitskaya down with a crushing left hand. Kunitskaya was out of sorts and Ladd pounced for heavy ground-and-pound before the referee jumped in for the TKO stoppage.

Check out the finishing sequence above and the left hand that started it all below, both courtesy of UFC/ESPN.

With this performance, Ladd gets back into the women’s bantamweight win column after getting knocked out by Germaine de Randamie back in July. The 24-year-old contender is still learning as she moves up the divisional ranks, but many are expecting a big 2020 campaign, especially after this performance coming off a loss.
