Much digital ink has been spilled across blogs and social media networks about former 145 pound kingpin Jose Aldo’s decision to drop down to 135 pounds for a run at the bantamweight title. And while Aldo did indeed resemble a spooky skeleton during fight week, he made weight and seemed pretty lively during the official commission weigh-ins. Now we’ve got the ceremonial weigh-ins, and Aldo is looking even better.
Take a look at this fully re-hydrated battle ready warrior:

Aldo is jumping right into the deep end against top 135 pound contender Marlon Moraes in the hopes that a win will earn him a title shot. We certainly hope he gets one before his kidneys start to punish him for the severe weight cuts, but at this point we’re starting to believe Aldo might be able to pull off this drop successfully. Of course, looking good and surviving a nice shot to the dome from Moraes are very different things.
For all their trash talk leading up to this welterweight title fight, Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington kept things pretty civil during their staredown. White kept the two apart but they seemed content to jaw at each other a bit. Watch it here:
