UFC 245 free fight video: Colby Covington dominates Rafael dos Anjos to win interim title

Colby Covington will look to taste Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) gold for the second time this Saturday night (Dec. 14, 2019) when he faces off against current Welterweight champion, Kamaru Usman, in the main event of UFC 245 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Before that, let’s take a look back at the night “Chaos” had UFC gold wrapped around his waste for the first time, albeit on an interim basis.

In the summer of 2018, Colby found himself locked in the cage with former UFC Lightweight champion-turned 170-pound title contender, Rafael dos Anjos, in the co-main event of UFC 225. Up to that point, dos Anjos had won his first three fights at 170 pounds, putting him in prime position for the title fight. Colby, meanwhile, was riding a five-fight win streak.

From the jump, “Chaos” jumped on “RDA” using his outstanding wrestling pedigree, smothering the Brazilian against the cage at will. The rest of the bout pretty much played out the same way for five rounds, as dos Anjos simply couldn't pop off any offense whatsoever, while Covington kept pushing the pace.

In the end, “Chaos” scored a clear-cut unanimous decision win, which not only earned him the interim title, but a title fight against then-champion Tyron Woodley. Unfortunately, that bout never came to be, and Kamaru Usman eventually went on to defeat “The Chosen One” while Colby battled it out with Dana White and Co.

Now, Covington will look to reach the top of the sport once and for all as he attempts to dethrone “The Nigerian Nightmare” from the top of the Welterweight mountain. He’s talked a good game so far, now it’s time to put up. will deliver LIVE round-by-round, blow-by-blow coverage of the entire UFC 245 fight card this weekend RIGHT HERE, starting with the Fight Pass/ESPN+ “Prelims” matches online, which are scheduled to begin at 6:15 p.m. ET, then the remaining undercard balance on ESPN 2 at 8 p.m. ET, before the PPV main card start time at 10 p.m. ET on ESPN+.
