Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) bantamweight champion, TJ Dillashaw, wants you to believe he used recombinant human erythropoietin (rHuEPO) just once in his mixed martial arts (MMA) career, which just so happened to be the only time he got popped.
Former opponent and ex-Team Alpha Male (TAM) training partner, Cody Garbrandt, is calling bullshit.
“This is some bullshit,” Garbrandt wrote on social media. “Been on EPO for years, wouldn’t be half the fighter he was without it. Coward!”
Dillashaw flunked his UFC Brooklyn drug test, which came shortly after his technical knockout loss to Henry Cejudo back in January. His ill-fated attempt to capture gold at 125 pounds, according to this recent interview, drove him to use EPO.
Garbrandt suffered back-to-back knockout losses to Dillashaw when they went to war at UFC 217 and UFC 227. “No Love” also lost his most recent fight by knockout, thanks to the heavy hands of Pedro Munhoz at UFC 235 last March.
Currently suspended, Dillashaw will be cleared to make his UFC return in early 2021.
