Submission! Watch Khalid Taha choke out BJJ black belt Bruno Silva at UFC 243

Rising bantamweight prospect Khalid Taha may have missed weight for his “Prelims” clash with Bruno Silva earlier tonight (Sat., Oct. 5, 2019) at UFC 243 from inside Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, Australia, but the German fighter made up for it with a third-round submission (arm-triangle choke) over the Henry Cejudo protege.

Taha came out firing and put Silva on the canvas with a left hook within the first minute of action. Silva would do his best to be competitive on the feet afterwards, but had to rely on takedowns and ground-and-pound to get back into the contest in Round 2.

Taha took back control in the third when he turned the tides and gained top control over the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) black belt. From there. Taha worked his way into side control and locked in a tight arm-triangle choke that forced Silva to tap air.

With this performance, Taha follows up his first-round knockout finish over Boston Salmon back at UFC 236 with another memorable performance. The 27-year-old prospect has been on fire since making his debut earlier this year and has enough power in his hands to punch his way into the top 15 sometime in 2020.
