Michelle Waterson vs Karolina Kowalkiewicz set for UFC on ESPN on March 30 in Philadelphia

Just as quick as the UFC on ESPN schedule is filling up, so are the fights that will make up those cards in 2019.

According to ESPN’s Brett Okamoto, Michelle Waterson and Karolina Kowalkiewicz are set to throw down in a pivotal women’s strawweight bout at the upcoming UFC on ESPN 2 event, which is set to go down on March 30 inside Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

We like the way you think, UFC.

Waterson is coming off dominant unanimous decision win over Felice Herrig at UFC 229, her second straight win after taking out Cortney Casey seven months prior. “Karate Hottie” has been working hard to land her first-ever UFC title fight, and a win over “Polish Princess” could get the job done.

Karolina, meanwhile, recently had her two-fight win streak snapped by Jessica Andrade — who will next fight Rose Namajunas for the division strap this summer — in her last outing, ending her hopes of getting another championship bout.

That said, with Joanna Jedrzejczyk out of the title picture for the foreseeable future after coming up short in her last three championship fights, a win for either Waterson or Karolina could give them a big boost in the hunt for the belt.
