Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) women’s Bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes became the promotion’s first-ever female “champ-champ” after knocking out Cris Cyborg at UFC 232 to win the Featherweight title (video).
And she has all the belts to prove it.
Naturally, Nunes was met with a welcome fit for a queen at American Top Team (ATT), the gym that helped her reach her goals. Met by coaches and teammates, “Lioness” proudly strutted her stuff with both belts over her shoulders.
As for what the future holds for Nunes, the world is truly her oyster, as she can now pick her fights in either the 135- or 145-pound divisions. Plus, there is always the possibility of rematching Cyborg, though that seems to be a long shot at the moment.
But, there are several others combatants just chomping at the bit to take one of the belts away from Nunes, namely Holly Holm, Germaine de Randamie and Ketlen Vieira.
That said, who’s next?
