Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is beefing up its UFC on ESPN+ 5 line up, thanks to a light heavyweight pairing that puts former title contender, Volkan Oezdemir, into battle against undefeated 205-pound phenom, Dominick Reyes, on Sat. March 16, 2019 inside O2 Arena in London, England.
That’s according to a report from BJPenn.com.
Oezdemir (15-3) jumped out to an incredible 15-1 start to his mixed martial arts (MMA) career, good enough to earn him a light heavyweight title shot opposite Daniel Cormier roughly one year back. “No Time” was finished off by the former champ, then got submitted by Anthony Smith in his rebound fight at UFC Fight Night 138.
As for Reyes (10-0), he remains unbeaten in four trips to the Octagon and recently turned away former title contender, Ovnce Saint Preux, in a commanding performance at UFC 229 last October. “The Devastator” has finished eight of his 10 victories and is widely considered the future of the light heavyweight division.
Also getting their hands dirty at UFC on ESPN+ 5 are Danny Roberts and Claudio Silva, while Priscila Cachoeira takes on Molly McCann. In addition, Jack Marshman fights John Phillips, not long after Saparbeg Safarov throw hands with Gokhan Saki.
Stay tuned for more UFC on ESPN+ 5 fight card announcements in the coming weeks.
