UFC Fortaleza free fight video: Raphael Assuncao spoils Marlon Moraes’ Octagon debut at UFC 212

New, comment

Two of the very best bantamweights in the world will collide at UFC on ESPN+ 2 on Feb. 2 from inside Northeast Olympic Training Center in Fortaleza, Brazil, as streaking veteran Raphael Assuncao meets former World Series of Fighting (WSOF) champion Marlon Moraes in a main event rematch.

Remember, Assuncao welcomed Moraes to the Octagon back at UFC 212 and ended up defeating his fellow Brazilian via split decision. It ended a 13-fight win streak for Moraes that dated back to 2011.

In preparation for the rematch, which has already been pegged as No. 1 contender’s bout at 135 pounds, UFC has opened up its vault and released the full fight video for Assuncao vs. Moraes 1. Check the video player above for the three-round affair.

Only time will tell if Moraes can learn from his mistakes and capture his fourth-straight win in a row to earn his first ever UFC title shot. As for Assuncao, a win over “Magic” will make it five in a row at 135 pounds and potentially set him up for a trilogy bout with current bantamweight champion T.J. Dillashaw.

UFC on ESPN+ 2 will also feature a co-main event pitting former UFC featherweight champion and all-time legend Jose Aldo against rising Brazilian contender Renato Moicano.
