Report: Daniel Cormier paid $4 million for Derrick Lewis blowout at UFC 230

If Derrick Lewis got stripper money, then Daniel Cormier got the pimp’s cut.

It seems “DC” was able to score a whopping $4 million payday to take care of “Black Beast” in the UFC 230 championship pay-per-view (PPV) main event, according to Dave Meltzer (via Bloody Elbow), which took place last November in New York City.

Probably because Dana White and Co. were so desperate for a headlining act, it had little choice. Tyron Woodley was hated hurt, Colby Covington was on vacation, and Jon Jones was unprepared for “The Big Apple” after coming out of his drug-testing suspension.

Likely because of this.

Cormier will have a chance to make even more money with a Brock Lesnar super fight, assuming the WWE import can be cleared in time to compete. Like Jones, Lesnar has seen his share of issues with the state athletic commission.

Now that’s the kind of payday worth postponing retirement for.
