Video: Watch Anderson Silva wreck the pads ahead of Israel Adesanya fight at UFC 234

After two years away from action, Anderson Silva will make his much-anticipated return to the Octagon on Feb. 10, 2019, against Israel Adesanya, which is set to co-headline UFC 234 in Melbourne, Australia.

The former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Middleweight champion has been sidelined for the past year after failing a United States Anti Drug Testing Agency (USADA)-administered drug test in Oct. 2017.

After USADA cleared “The Spider” of any wrongdoing, he was hit with a one-year retroactive suspension, which made him eligible to return to the cage in Nov. 2018. His first test back after an extended break won’t be easy, however, as Adesanya is one of the most talented contenders in the division, winning all four of his UFC fights en route to pushing his mint record to 15-0.

In preparation for the upcoming 185-pound collision, Silva — who last defeated Derek Brunson at UFC 208 in Feb. 2017 — is getting his body ready for a successful comeback. Indeed, Silva recently held a workout session for the media (via MMA Fighting) at his Spider Kick gym in Los Angeles, California.

“The Spider” looks ready, but will it be enough to hand “The Last Stylebender” his first-ever MMA loss?
