A hard-hitting Middleweight showdown between former two-time title contender Yoel Romero and undefeated (12-0, 4-0 UFC) prospect, Paulo Costa, could be headed to Miami, Florida on April 27.
That’s according to Combate.com, which stated Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is working on booking the fight to headline the upcoming UFC on ESPN 3 card in “The Magic City.”

UFC has yet to officially announce the matchup.
The two men were set to throw down last November at UFC 230, but the bout fell through after Romero had to withdraw due to injury. The fight was briefly linked to take place at last weekend’s UFC on ESPN+ 1 event in Brooklyn, New York, but that quickly disappeared, this time to Costa’s health issues.
Paulo is coming off a second round knockout win over Uriah Hall at UFC 226 (see it), earning him his fourth straight stoppage victory inside the Octagon. Romero, meanwhile, was last seen coming up short to Robert Whittaker a second time, this time failing to dethrone “The Reaper” from the 185-pound throne at UFC 225.
During the fight, “Soldier of God” suffered an orbital bone injury which eventually forced him under the knife and to the sidelines. Should the bout go through, it will pit two of the
beefiest most-powerful men in the division agaisnt one another, which is sure to be a hard-hitting affair.
