Retired boxing icon, Floyd Mayweather Jr., is probably used to people coming up and wanting to shake hands or take pictures (or both). That’s the price of fame and let’s face it, “Money” is the biggest star in all of combat sports.
Affectionately known as the “A-side.”
That said, I’m sure Mayweather wasn’t wanting expecting his most recent admirer to be current WBA Welterweight World Champion, Manny Pacquiao, who came up short against his longtime rival back in 2015 (highlights here).
So what did “Pac Man” do in the big spot?
I’m not sure what you would call it, but it appears to be an attempt at a handshake. Instead, it was just a bunch of fist bumping and hand grabbing, making that awkward run-in between Jon Jones and Georges St-Pierre look like a family reunion.
Pacquiao is hoping to secure a Mayweather rematch at some point in 2019, and while “Money” is only taking time out of his retirement schedule to beat up Japanese kickboxers, a payday like this is always hard to turn down.
Let’s just hope “Pac Man” has better hands in the fight than he did at the basketball game.
