The action will spill into the squared circle later tonight (Sat., Jan. 19, 2019) live on Showtime pay-per-view (PPV) from inside MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, as boxing great Manny Pacquiao (60-7-2, 39 KOs) puts his newly-acquired WBA (Regular) welterweight title on the line against Adrien Broner (33-3-1, 24 KOs).
Pacquiao, who hasn’t competed on Vegas soil since a win over Jessie Vargas back in 2016, is coming off a massive TKO win over veteran Lucas Matthysse this past July to claim the WBA (Regular) welterweight strap. Broner, on the other hand, is coming off a draw opposite Vargas this past April after dropping a unanimous decision to undefeated boxing sensation Mikey Garcia in 2017.
Even with UFC’s debut on ESPN scheduled for later this evening (results here), ‘Pacquiao vs. Broner’ expects to command a lot of the combat spotlight. After all, Pacquiao remains one of the most popular fighters in boxing today and is currently experiencing a resurgence after losing to Jeff Horn back in 2017.
But when exactly can paying viewers expect “Pac-Man” and “The Problem” to step inside of the boxing ring for their main event title fight?
While boxing is always tricky with its walkouts, lengthy promos, and start times, fans can expect Pacquiao and Broner to make their respective walks sometime around 12:30 p.m. ET tonight. With three fights, including two 12-round title bouts, scheduled to go down on the PPV undercard it’s likely that the main event happens even later than anticipated.
Make sure you don’t miss the action as Pacquiao and Broner battle it out for welterweight supremacy. Mania will be sure to update the expected 12:30 p.m. ET start time should the undercard run late.
