MMA: UFC 226-Miocic vs Cormier Stephen R. Sylvanie-USA TODAY Sports

Mr. Telephone Man,
There’s something wrong with my line!
When I dial Cormier’s number,
I get a click every time!

Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heavyweight kingpin, Stipe Miocic, is practically begging Daniel Cormier for a championship rematch, after “DC” planished the unpopular firefighter at UFC 226 last July.

For awhile there, the Olympian was agreeable and even promised to quench that thirst if the return of Brock Lesnar didn’t pan out. Considering the persnickety pro wrestler has alligator arms and milk-box urine, that’s certainly a possibility.

Either way, it seems Cormier is tired of entertaining Miocic’s repeated requests for a pay-per-view (PPV) rematch and has flat-out ignored the most recent request. And to be fair, the clock is ticking on the champ’s career.

I blame Derrick Lewis.

Cormier (22-1, 1 NC) followed up his heavyweight title win by making a mockery of Lewis at UFC 230, then sat idly by while longtime light heavyweight nemesis, Jon Jones, returned from disciplinary suspension to lay waste to Alexander Gustafsson.

Whether or not “DC” tries to break “Bones” one final time in his career, fights Brock Lesnar, or rematches the inactive Miocic remains to be seen, but if it were up to promotion president Dana White, Cormier would do all three.

Not likely.
