If imitation is the most sincere form of flattery, you could say lightweight champ Khabib Nurmagomedov just flattered Conor McGregor. The Dagestani fighter took to Instagram on Friday morning to share a photo of his team, along with McGregor’s famous quote, “If one of us go to the war, we all go to the war.”

Giving truth to Khabib’s words, Emiragaev and Tukhugov both went to war alongside Khabub during that UFC 229 post-fight brawl with Conor McGregor.
Of course, that means it could be a while before those particular folks make it back into the cage. Khabib’s future still lies in the hands of the Nevada State Athletic Commission, who are set to hand out punishments for the brawl on January 29th. UFC president Dana White has said any punishment above a year for Khabib would be excessive. But of course he’d say that, Khabib vs. McGregor sold 2.4 million pay-per-views making it the biggest fight in UFC history.
But with the Nevada commission making its money off big Vegas fights and no fight being bigger than the McGregor vs. Nurmagomedov rematch, we think a year suspension is definitely possible, bringing Khabib back in October of 2019. Will McGregor return before then? He’s facing his own suspension for his part in the brawl, and seems pretty content selling whiskey and enjoying his family. But there’s always the possibility of a Tenshin fight...
