It was a tremendous performance by veteran lightweight Jim Miller earlier tonight (Sat., Sept. 8, 2018) at UFC 228 from inside American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas, when he choked out Alex White in the very first round in what was Miller’s 30th Octagon appearance.
Miller didn’t take long to attack White on the feet. After a few hard leg kicks, Miller stepped inside for a three-piece combination that culminated with a left hand to White’s chin. White dropped to the canvas and Miller jumped on top for more offense. A quick transition allowed Miller to sink in a rear-naked choke and force White to tap.

With this performance, Miller gets back into the UFC win column after losing his last four Octagon appearances. The 35-year-old veteran looked really sharp tonight against a game opponent, so maybe he has more left in the tank than we initially thought. It will be interesting to see if Miller can continue his resurgence in 2019.
