To the OGs

I used to spend a lot of time here. I was a vocal member and not the lurker I have become. For a while I felt kinda special around these parts, but one day I felt like I was ghosted on. Looking back, maybe I made you feel misled. This is something I think about a lot, maybe more than I should, but I was hoping to clear the air here for my own mental health.

Do you remember Chaos Theory MMA? Chaos Theory MMA wasn't a school, it was barely even a club. It was three dudes with a bit of a dream and our first step towards working towards it. We were a team for one fight, as life can change things fast. Our jits guy moved out of town, and the fighter got on better terms with his family and went to train with them with Team Link. I trained when I could, but was unaffiliated due to there being a lack of teams at home(google "MMA Lyndonville, VT" and you'll see what I mean).

Now about my Thai experience. I've never said Muay Thai because I didn't learn from a Kru. I didn't even learn from someone who had probably ever taken Muay Thai. Truth is, my Thai experience came from a McDojo. I spent years honing my skills in a belted Thai Kickboxing school. It no longer exists, but it was Martial Arts Principles in Keene, NH. If you've heard of AMOK, it's run by Tom Sotis. He was the one belting my instructor.

I do have a real BJJ blue belt, Nic Gregoriades himself put the four stripes on it. I've been out of the gym for a bit, but when I'm training it's with Adam LaClair. He has his own story, if you wanna search for him on the UG you'll find some interesting reading.

If there's anything you guys questioned over the years, please let me have it in the comments.
