The best prospect in mixed martial arts (MMA) took another step forward in his career last night (Sat., Sept. 29, 2018) at Bellator 206 live on DAZN from inside SAP Center in San Jose, Calif., as the highly-touted Aaron Pico put a brutal stop to veteran Leandro Higo via first-round TKO.
Despite landing a few good shots in the early going, Higo eventually became a punching bag for Pico. The 22-year-old prodigy capped off his offensive efforts with a huge right hand midway through the first. Higo flopped to the canvas and Pico followed with heavy ground-and-pound. Higo eventually returned to his feet only to absorb another offensive flurry by Pico. The Brazilian stomached a few more shots than the referee should have allowed and was eventually put out.

With this performance, Pico extends his win streak to four with all four victories coming by way of first-round knockout. Much can be said about his wrestling and conditioning, but Pico is quickly becoming one of the most dangerous finishers Bellator has to offer. Another win like this one could lead the young featherweight to a divisional title shot.
