UFC 229 free fight video: Watch Khabib Nurmagomedov demolish Edson Barboza in Las Vegas

New, comments

Khabib Nurmagomedov will have the opportunity to take his mixed martial arts (MMA) career to the next level when he takes on combat sueprstar Conor McGregor at UFC 229 on Oct. 6 live on pay-per-view (PPV) from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

It is undoubtedly the biggest fight in the career of Khabib, who has amassed an undefeated 26-0 record up to this point. Not to mention he’s the current UFC lightweight champion after dismantling Al Iaquinta this past April in Brooklyn.

In preparation for Khabib’s main event title fight with “Notorious,” the promotion has opened its vault and released some prime footage (shown above).

This time around the action focuses on Nurmagomedov’s clash with Brazilian striker Edson Barboza back at UFC 219 last year. In one of the most dominant three-round performances you’ll ever see, “Eagle” battered Barboza en route to a completely lopsided unanimous decision (30-25, 30-25, 30-24). It remains a perfect example of what Khabib is capable of doing to a world-class striker with limited wrestling ability.

Sound familiar?

If McGregor is unable to keep Khabib off of him like Barboza failed to do the Irishman may encounter the same fate. “Notorious” certainly possesses more punching power than Barboza does, but he may not even have the chance to fire it off.
