Francisco Trinaldo didn’t allow Evan Dunham to ride off into the sunset earlier tonight (Sat., Sept. 22, 2018) at UFC Fight Night 137 from inside Ibirapuera Gymnasium in Sao Paulo, Brazil, as the Brazilian fighter put an end to Dunham, who planned on retiring after this fight, via second-round knockout (knee to the body).
After a back-and-forth first round, Trinaldo finally found the opening he was looking for. The powerful lightweight landed a brutal knee to the ribs and liver of Dunham, putting the veteran in serious pain. Dunham curled up and fell to the canvas as Trinaldo rushed in for more offense and the referee to stop the fight.

With this performance, Trinaldo gets back into the 155-pound win column after losing a decision to contender James Vick back in February. The 40-year-old really hasn’t shown many signs of slowing down and tonight is the perfect example that he still has it. Dunham is a gritty veteran who was trying to retire on the right note, but Trinaldo’s power and timing shined through once more.
