Memorial service for Blackzilians’ Glenn Robinson set for Sept. 23

The mixed martial arts (MMA) community said goodbye to Blackzilians founder Glenn Robinson earlier this week, after the longtime combat sports manager reportedly passed away from heart failure.

A memorial service was recently announced by his daughter Sam and will take place this Sunday (Sept. 23, 2018) at 10:30 a.m. ET inside Temple Beth El Memorial Gardens in Davie, Florida, not far from where Robinson and Co. established their famed MMA gym.

Robinson was featured prominently as head coach on The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 21, opposing American Top Team (ATT) owner Dan Lambert. Robinson’s squad won the season after Kamaru Usman submitted Hayder Hassan in the welterweight live finale.

The Blackzilians camp eventually disbanded and the gym was sold after what longtime member Rashad Evans referred to as ongoing drama. Robinson, the former president of Iron Bridge Tools, still had ties to the MMA industry through Authentic Sports Management, as well as his JACO clothing line.
