Jessica Andrade has waited for her second chance to win the Ultimate fighting Championship (UFC) women’s Strawweight title long enough, which is why she is ramping up her campaign efforts in order to score a title fight against current champion, Rose Namajunas.
Taking to Instagram, Andrade created her own UFC fight poster calling for a showdown against “Thug Rose” at the upcoming, year-end UFC 232 pay-per-view (PPV) event set to go down on Dec. 29, 2018 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
This fight has to happen guys! We’ve waited too long, I’m ready. Help me we’ll all post on social networks, in statuses and Storys, and mark the following profiles @ mickmaynard2 @danawhite @seanshelby @minotauromma @criscyborg @rosenamajunas The more people post the more chance we have to do this fight on 29/12 in Las Vegas . Together we are stronger!
Andrade came up short in her first bid to win the women’s 115-pound title, losing to ex-champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk at UFC 211 back in 2017. With three straight wins since — including her first-round knockout win over Karolina Kowalkiewicz this past Saturday at UFC 228 (see it) — Jessica has done more than enough to warrant another shot.
Unfortunately, there is no exact timetable for Rose’s return, as she is currently dealing with a neck injury which could keep her out of the cage a bit longer.
But if Rose was able to compete at UFC 232, it would definitely bolster an event that is currently set to be headlined by a women’s Featherweight “super title fight,” as Cris Cyborg will defend her strap against Bantamweight queen, Amanda Nunes.
