Longtime welterweight veteran Neil Magny was expected to fight Alex Oliveira at the upcoming UFC Fight Night 137 mixed martial arts (MMA) event on FOX Sports 1, which takes place Sat., Sept. 22, 2018 inside Ibirapuera Gymnasium in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Now he’s got bigger fish to fry.
Magny was recently yanked from his “Cowboy” match up and reinserted into the UFC Fight Night 140 headliner opposite Santiago Ponzinibbio on Nov. 17, 2018 at Estadio Luna Park in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Taking his place in Brazil is once-beaten welterweight sensation Carlo Pedersoli Jr. (11-1), according to a report from Combate, who made his Octagon debut in a winning performance against Bradley Scott at UFC Liverpool back in May.
As for Oliveira (18-5-1, 2 NC), he’s looking to capitalize on his submission win over Carlos Condit at UFC on FOX 29 last April. The Brazilian “Cowboy” has 15 finishes in 18 wins and is 8-3 under the UFC banner with one “no contest.”
