Conor McGregor shuts down Floyd Mayweather’s offer to let him train at his gym ahead of UFC 229

Boxing: Mayweather vs McGregor-World Tour Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

Floyd Mayweather recently made headlines after the former best pound-for-pound best boxer in the world invited Conor McGregor to train at his famed gym ahead of his mixed martial arts (MMA) comeback against Lightweight champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov, which is set to go down at UFC 229 on Oct. 6, 2018, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Invitation not welcome.

“Notorious” took to Twitter to seemingly shut down the peace offering in true McGregor fashion.

“Fuck the Mayweathers, except Senior and Roger. There is no peace here kid. Step up or step down,” read the Tweet.

Of course, Mayweather defeated McGregor last August in a boxing match (relive it here), so there still seems plenty of bad blood on the Irishman’s side, which many felt was all just for show to pump up the much-criticized showdown.

Nevertheless, McGregor and Co. won’t be stepping foot inside the Mayweather Boxing Club, and will likely be doing all of his training at Straight Blast Gym in Ireland, as well as the UFC’s Performance Institute in Floyd’s backyard.
