Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) flyweight sensation, Paige VanZant, announced her return to mixed martial arts (MMA) earlier this month on Twitter, which then led to reports of a potential Rachel Ostovich fight when the promotion makes its ESPN debut in January.
Fake news.
That’s according to “12 Gauge,” which means she probably got that whole “loose lips sink ships” speech from the UFC brass after blabbing on Twitter, or simply overstated her position on social media when teasing her inevitable return.
#FakeNews..sorry everyone I’m not even cleared yet. Hoping to get cleared this week to slowly start back to training! Off to Vegas Thursday to see my doctor.

I miss the old days when “fake news” was called “click bait.”
VanZant (7-4) has been riding the pine since breaking her arm in a losing effort against Jessica-Rose Clark earlier this year in St. Louis (see it). The former “Dancing with the Stars” finalist underwent surgery to repair the wounded wing, but complications sent her back under the knife just last month.
We’re likely to know more later this week when VanZant follows up with her physician.
