Rising bantamweight prospect Cory Sandhagen proved his toughness earlier tonight (Sat., Aug. 25, 2018) at UFC Fight Night 135 live on FOX Sports 1 from inside Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Nebraska, when he shook off an early submission scare to finish Brazilian veteran Iuri Alcantara via second-round TKO (punches).
Alcantara nearly ended the bout in the opening moments by grabbing a hold of Sandhagen’s arm and working for an arm bar. Sandhagen somehow peeled his outstretched limb away, gained top control, and blasted Alcantara with heavy ground-and-pound. Alcantara lasted into the second round before Sandhagen jumped on top and put the finishing touches on a come-from-behind TKO win.

With this performance, Sandhagen locks down his second UFC victory in as many fights. The up-and-coming prospect looks like the real deal at 135 pounds and could threaten to enter the top 10 sometime next year.
