An intriguing welterweight showdown between top contenders Santiago Ponzinibbio and Neil Magny is set to take place at the upcoming UFC Fight Night 140 event on November 17, 2018 at Estadio Luna Park in Buenos Aires, Argentina, according to Combate.com.
It’s a no-brainer to have the Argentinian Santiago headline the FOX Sports 1 event in what will mark the promotion’s first visit to Argentina. Santiago is currently riding a six fight win streak and was last seen beating the brakes off Mike Perry in December of 2017.
Ponzi was set to face off against Kamaru Usman at UFC Fight Night 129 in Chile earlier this year but was forced to pull of of the fight with an injury.
As for Magny, his currently owns a two-fight win streak and was scheduled to face off against Alex Oliveira at UFC Fight Night 137 on September 22, but was ultimately yanked from that fight in favor of pairing him against Ponzinibbio.
Yo alexcowboyoficial , just so you know I was very excited to share the cage with you. I believe our styles match well and it would have been a great fight for the fans. For now it's not… https://t.co/rfmhc2i0Xl

No word yet on who will face Oliveira next month in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
A win for for Magny or Santiago will go a long way I’m upping their respective stock and inch them closer to a shot at the division title, which will be defended by champion Tyron Woodley against Darren Till at UFC 228 on September 8, 2018 in Dallas, Texas.
A loss will be detrimental for their championship dreams as the 170-pound weight class is as competitive as ever, with plenty of hungry sharks just waiting for their turn to get the call up to the big dance.
Also competing in Buenos Aires will by Cynthia Calvillo, who returns from a lengthy absence due to a failed drug test to take on Poliana Botelho.
