Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) wasted no time in rolling out promotional videos for the upcoming UFC 229 pay-per-view (PPV) event, which will feature a Lightweight title fight between division kingpin Khabib Nurmagomedov and former champ-champ, Conor McGregor.

And now the world’s leading mixed martial arts (MMA) organization has given fight fans the first look at the official poster for the much-anticipated championship bout, which is set to go down on Oct. 6, 2018, inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Sometimes a little goes a long way.

McGregor struck a plea deal with prosecutors in New York a few weeks back following his rampage in Brooklyn, which saw “Notorious” injure multiple UFC fighters after he threw a hand truck through a bus window (see it again here). McGregor was trying to get at Khabib, who was riding in the vehicle at the time, as payback after “The Eagle” confronted Artem Lobov.

For McGregor, it will be his first MMA fight in nearly two years after he took a hiatus from the sport following his historic win over Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205 back in 2016. After taking on the bus — and Floyd Mayweather in a boxing match — “Notorious” is ready to return to claim the title he was stripped of during his hiatus.

As for Khabib, he went on to win the title by defeating Al Iaquinta at UFC 223 earlier this year. The win not only earned him his first taste of UFC gold, it earned him his much-desired chance to get his hands on the mouthy Irishman.
