Roy Nelson vs Sergei Kharitonov co-headlines Bellator 207 on Oct. 12

MMA: UFC Fight Night-Volkov vs Nelson Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

Bellator MMA has assembled a heavy-hitting co-main event for its upcoming Bellator 207 mixed martial arts (MMA) event, scheduled for Fri., Oct. 12, 2018 inside Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., live on Paramount Network.

Roy Nelson vs. Sergei Kharitonov, according to MMA Junkie.

Nelson (23-15) crossed over from Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in late 2017 and was expected to make waves in the promotion’s heavyweight grand prix. Unfortunately, a majority decision loss to Matt Mitrione at Bellator 194 sent him home early and “Big Country” stands at 1-1 under his new roof.

Kharitonov (27-6, 1 NC) has quietly put together a 9-1 record across his last 10 fights with eight finishes. The former PRIDE and Strikeforce slugger was last seen mixing it up with Anton Vyazigin under the M-1 banner back in May, where an accidental eye poke left both combatants with a “no contest.”

Bellator 207 will be headlined by the heavyweight grand prix semifinal pitting Matt Mitrione opposite Ryan Bader (details). Elsewhere on the card, Mike Kimbel and Alex Potts collide for bantamweight bragging rights.

Expect more fight card announcements for the Oct. 12 show over the next few weeks.
