We are just one month away from one of the more intriguing fights at 170 pounds as current UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley takes on undefeated English contender Darren Till at UFC 228 on Sept. 8 live on pay-per-view (PPV) from inside American Airlines Arena in Dallas, Texas.
Woodley, who will be putting his welterweight title on the line for a third-straight time, will be making his first Octagon appearance since a decision win over Demian Maia one year ago. Till, on the other hand, is coming into this title fight after consecutive wins over divisional standouts Stephen Thompson and Donald Cerrone.
In preparation for the impending main event clash, the promotion has released an official poster for UFC 228 (shown above).
As you can see, there is a significant height advantage for Till (three inches to be exact). The streaking contender has missed weight before and is arguably better suited as a middleweight, but he’ll have the opportunity to use his size and try to ward off Woodley’s well-rounded attack.
We’ll have to wait and see how this welterweight title fight plays out, but this poster is a nice way to get the blood pumping. UFC 228 isn’t the greatest PPV card of the year, but it should be a nice appetizer before Conor McGregor fights Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229 in October.
