Friday night fisticuffs hit your television tonight (July 6, 2018) as Israel Adesanya and Brad Tavares headline The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 27 Finale, which will take place at Pearl Concert Theater in Las Vegas, Nevada, airing live on FOX Sports 1. The show’s Lightweight and Featherweight tournaments culminate in Mike Trizano vs. Joe Giannetti and Jay Cucciniello vs. Brad Katona, respectively, while Alex Caceres faces TUF: “Latin America” standout Martin Bravo one fight prior.
It’s all free besides the Fight Pass bit. Shall we have a look?
What Went Wrong at UFC Fight Night 132?
I recognize that betting on Felipe Arantes was a mistake, but man, that was a sad performance. He finally found some success on the feet at the start of Round Two, then immediately pulled guard. I still say he could have at least given Song a right challenge if he hadn’t fought like an idiot.
TUF 27 Finale Odds For The Undercard:
Montana De La Rosa (-155) vs. Rachael Ostovich (+145)
Luis Pena (-355) vs. Richie Smullen (+320)
John Gunther (-155) vs. Allan Zuniga (+135)
Tyler Diamond (N/A) vs. Bryce Mitchell (N/A)
Matt Bessette (-140) vs. Steven Peterson (+130)
Oskar Piechota (-225) vs. Gerald Meerschaert (+205)
Thoughts: Six guys making their UFC debuts and four of the others have only competed inside the Octagon once each. Lovely.
There’s a bit of value in Steven Peterson, methinks. Bessette’s striking isn’t terribly crisp and, judging by “The Mangler’s” losses to Kurt Holobaugh and Enrique Barzola, Peterson’s relentless advance should pay dividends here.
TUF 27 Finale Odds For The Main Card:
Israel Adesanya (-110) vs. Brad Tavares (EVEN)
Joe Giannetti (-160) vs. Mike Trizano (+150)
Brad Katona (-235) vs. Jay Cucciniello (+215)
Alex Caceres (-135) vs. Martin Bravo (+115)
Barb Honchak (-160) vs. Roxanne Modafferi (+150)
Julian Marquez (-150) vs. Alessio Di Chirico (+140)
Thoughts: For all his potential, I really do not believe Adesanya should be the favorite here. Tavares has proven time and again that he can dictate the pace against more dynamic opposition than he, and a decent performance against Marvin Vettori isn’t enough to convince me that “The Style Bender” is ready for one of the Middleweight division’s most consistent fighters.
TUF 27 Finale Best Bets:
- Single bet — Steven Peterson: Bet $30 to make $39
- Single bet — Brad Tavares: Bet $60 to make $60
At least there’ll be plenty of weekend left to drink our sorrows away if things go south. See you tonight, Maniacs.
