According to Ariel Helwani, Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) recently inked a deal with clothing apparel line Van Heusen and is now the “official men’s dress and business apparel provider” for the promotion.
To kick of the new partnership, Van Heusen released an ad to promote its “Flex Collection” featuring current UFC Bantamweight champion T.J. Dillashaw and former two-time Welterweight title contender, Stephen Thompson.
What starts as a casual workday at your typical 9 to 5 quickly turns into an all-out brawl once Dillashaw’s nerves are tested by “Wonderboy’s” excessive sipping of his drink. Thankfully, the new “Flex Collection” is so comfortable and adjusts to your best fighting techniques — and everyday movements — that the world-class combatants were able to handle their business with extreme comfort.
“I want people to believe that the product works, because it does. If it can stretch this much on them in these conditions, it is obviously something that would be relevant to them,” said Mike Kelly, CMO of Van Heusen parent company PVH Heritage Marketing (via ADWeek).
Unfortunately for Thompson, he came up short against the current 135-pound champion, who will next defend his title against Cody Garbrandt at this weekend’s (Sat., July 28, 2018) UFC 227 pay-per-view (PPV) event in Los Angeles, CA.
