Devin Powell made good on his third opportunity to capture Octagon glory earlier tonight (Sat., July 28, 2018) at UFC on FOX 30 from inside Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, when he put a stop to Alvaro Herrera via first-round TKO (body kick).
Herrera did the most damage early as he hurt Powell badly with combination punches to the body. Powell stood in the pocket strong and delivered a kick of his own that connected directly with Herrera’s liver. Herrera stumbled back and Powell launched another hard kick to the stomach that put the Mexican lightweight down.

With this performance, Powell locks down his first UFC victory after dropping his last two fights via decision. Having come back from an injured testicle, this is a tremendous feat for Powell. The 30-year-old will try to ride this momentum up the 155-pound ladder his next time out.
