It was yet another smashing performance for light heavyweight prospect Ion “The Hulk” Cutelaba earlier tonight (Sat., July 28, 2018) at UFC on FOX 30 from inside Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, when he put a brutal stop to surging submission finisher Gadzhimurad Antigulov via first-round TKO.
Cutelaba had to defend a lot early on as Antigulov took him down on multiple occasions and tried to finish the fight. “Hulk” hung in tough and Antigulov started to tire. When the action returned to the feet Cutelaba absolutely unloaded on the Russian veteran, landing countless uppercuts and knees in the clinch. It wasn’t until a final elbow slammed into Antigulov’s head that the referee stepped in for the stoppage.

With this performance, Cutelaba earns another highlight reel finish at 205 pounds. The 24-year-old still has a lot of work to do if he’s going to test the light heavyweight top 10, but he’s quickly becoming a fan favorite in a division thirsty for new blood.
