Video: Watch Renzo Gracie, 51, win ONE Championship debut by submission

You don’t have to teach an old dog new tricks when the old tricks are still getting it done.

Former PRIDE FC and Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) veteran, Renzo Gracie, made his return to mixed martial arts (MMA) as part of the ONE Championship event on Friday (July 27, 2018) inside Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay, Philippines.

The 51 year-old grappler recovered from a tepid first round (not unusual for the Brazilian) to come back and submit fellow well-traveled veteran Yuki Kondo with a tried-and-true rear-naked choke, conveniently embedded in the video player above.

“You’re talking to a guy who loves to fight,” Gracie told MMA Fighting in defiance of his age. “If someone comes to my front door and says he came here to fight me, we’ll move the furniture from my beautiful living room and we’ll make a match right then. If there is a life after this one, I hope they allow spirits to fight.”

Here are the complete ONE Championship: “Reign of Kings” results:

Kevin Belingon def. Martin Nguyen via unanimous decision
