Max Holloway feeling better, but still facing more tests as UFC doctors try to ‘figure this out’

Something is wrong with Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) featherweight champion Max Holloway, and to date, neither “Blessed” nor his attending physicians can pinpoint what exactly is causing him so many health issues.

Whatever it might be, it was serious enough to get him pulled from the UFC 226 pay-per-view (PPV) event earlier this month in Las Vegas, Nevada. Theories range from bad weight cutting to concussion-related symptoms.

“Back on the mainland for more exams,” Holloway wrote on Twitter. “Thanks UFC and docs for following through to try and figure this out. Starting to feel better. Still Blessed.”

The division’s No. 1 contender, Brian Ortega, (defiantly?) remains in a holding pattern until the promotion announces the Hawaiian’s return, or strips him of the 145-pound strap in the wake of his extended absence.

Considering how many issues “Blessed” has experienced this year, perhaps some time off would do him (and his brain) some good.
